The finish is brushed on to look weathered. Unfortunately it looks sloppy due to the brush marks.

Very cheap given the price. Shelf is like dense styrofoam, and was heavily scratched up on arrival.

So sorry to let you know that the shelf template was completely a waste. The shelf rail was bent down on one side. The shelf rail was not permanently adhered to the shelf. The stain looked to be painted gray instead of a barn finish stain.
