The holes for the small shelving are off by almost an inch to on opposite sides. I tried using different holes to find some that might work. To no avail. Directions wet sadly lacking g as to the parts and adjusting the hinges. No written instructions to help guide you.

I went through THREE of these and each one was damaged. I really wanted it to work because if I got one that wasn’t damaged or defective it would have been perfect. But even assembled, this thing is awful. The holes don’t line up, it’s scratched all over, the top doesn’t close, all the shelves are uneven. The only reason I’d give this a one star is because customer service really tried. But this product is terrible and I’ve never had an experience like this with anything from Wayfair before. And I’ve assembled a lot of boxed furniture in my time! I finally accepted the 25 discount because they wanted me to carry this heavy box to UPS to return, and that was not happening so I guess I’ll just keep this defective unit and write a review so you don’t make the same mistake I made.

This piece works good for what I need it for. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because the instructions are terrible and there was a hole on the lid that was not in the right place. For the instructions, read them first and then use common sense when you put it together. I wasn’t paying attention and went on autopilot and ended up putting some pieces on backwards. Had to undo most of the piece to fix it. As for the lid hole, the lid still works so I’m not too mad. Just annoyed. It’s still a good buy.

This was a perfect shoe bench for our little nook in the mud room.
