I am very torn about this product. There are certainly reasons to be grateful but also reasons to be disappointed. Our goal was to find a garden shed with enough space to store a wide variety of items that could withstand the intense summer heat we get in our area. So metal was not our first choice. But after weeks of research and a lot of head-shaking over the prices of anything made of resin or wood in this larger size, we chose to buy this one.
PROS:
1. This shed is listed as 10 ft x 10 ft. (It is actually just under that.) Lots of space to organize your stuff. We were able to fit a 6’ book case and an 8 ft. work table inside.
2. Once put together, the style and look of the shed is, while not what you might call charming, attractive enough that I’m happy to see it in my backyard.
CONS:
1. Installation is very complex. There are a LOT of parts to assemble and literally hundreds of screws, many with flexible washers, to install.
2. Many of those screws with washers are used to install the roof pieces. It rained just a few days after we got the shed finished. Turns out it is not waterproof. We had to use a spray silicone around every screw in the shed and around the bottom edge of the walls to avoid water getting inside.
3. The floor frame shown in the website photos is not included. It must be ordered separately. We had to create a floor ourselves for the shed to stand on.
4. Big disappointment: Many of the parts arrived damaged. (See photos)
5. Smaller disappointment: The website lists the color as Gray. It is not. I understand that computer monitors do not represent color accurately. That is not the point. I would have been happy with any shade of an actual Gray. This item is a very brownish putty color.
6. We had thought we’d be able to handle the installation ourselves but after a full day of confusion we hired a contractor to build the cement pad with tile for the flooring and handle the installation of the shed. That added 3 days and $2000. to the cost of this project.
In conclusion, I’m glad to have a workable garden shed. But the actual quality of the design and material plus the amount of work needed to complete the installation is not well represented in the Wayfair description.
