I grew up in Germany and have used similar folding racks my entire life. My current one is made of metal and where the paint chipped, it started rust, so I bought this one to replace the old one. This one was wonky even out of the box and broke at the hinge on the first use, and has entirely collapsed on the second use (this is socks and underwear we're talking, not sheets and towels). I love the design and the fact that's aluminum (no chance for rust), but the quality of the hinges and connections is subpar. Back to the old rusty one...
