I was searching for something to keep our curious yellow lab from digging paper out of trash. These trash cans are perfect! They are convenient to open and close and keep my furbaby out of trouble too!

I bought this tonight, and the top doesnt open so there isnt a way to easily open it without shoving a finger to the edge and forcing it after the other hand keeps the latch open

This trash bin lid does not stay closed. I’m so disappointed. The one I had before lasted years. I’m already needing to replace a month old bin.

The trashcan looks nice. It fits easily in a smaller space and is easy to keep out of the way. However, I purchsed a lidded trashcan with my newly-adopted trash-picker dog in mind. This trashcan will NOT fit the bill. The lid does not snap in place; it merely rests on top of the can and can be easily knocked off by a nosy canine. It defeats the purpose of having a latch on the lid in the first place. I'm going to try hot-gluing the lid to the can. I mainly use it for office-type trash, not food scraps, so I don't use a trash bag in it anyway.

I purchased the 7.5 gallon TouchTop trash can on 9/9/25. It's the perfect size and style for my under cabinet trash drawer... but the lid stopped opening about 3 months ago and has never worked since so I have to take the lid off now to put trash in the can. I wanted to get just a replacement lid but apparently Sterilite does not sell just the lids so I'm not happy that I have to buy a whole new entire can/lid to replace the product, it's the only one I've found that fits in my trash drawer.
