This safe is quality! From the thick gauge of the metal to the finish, it's great. Not flimsy like some imported safes. I like the manual simplex lock- I don't think a cheap bio-metric or electronic lock is nearly as dependable and I don't have to worry about dead batteries of finding a back-up key in an emergency. Note that this is not a dial lock as stated. It is a push button combination lock and is easy to program. You can have single and double button presses for more security. This is also easy to use in the dark closet- you can do it by feel without turning on a light. I used my own longer lag screws to get a better bite into the wall studs. Easy to install in standard 2" x 4" (1-1/2 X 3-1/2 actual) stud depth and 16" width centers. The hardest part was finding the pilot holes through the carpet lining of the vault when trying to attach the shelves, not a big deal. XL easily holds my pistol, accessories, cash and coins

I actually opened up the wall and re-framed everything with pressure-treated wood to put it exactly dead center covered up with vinyl paneling the safe is made very well I also have purchased the smaller unit and the larger unit same company V-Line
