Of all the things I bought and I spent over 15k on my entire set up, I got 2 of these and don't like them. They invite slugs and let them multiple then those slugs go into your bed and eat your plants, same for gnats. As much as you think you know how to set up compost and to avoid bugs. . . it's impossible. Don't recommend. They take up space. Buy the external composter and save your plants because the moment you put covers on. . . this is a recipe for infestation.

It didn’t work for me . They are well made but I live in Florida and it was too hot , I found myself covering the lid with cardboard just to keep the temp down inside.

New to composting and just wanted something simple to get started. I really like the size on this in ground composter and the color is really nice too. The only complaint that I have (why I did four stars) is that the latch on the lid is really difficult to open sometimes. I have to lean my weight fully onto the lid with one hand and open with the other to get it to release. I suppose that’s not a terrible feature in terms of keeping raccoons and other critters out of the compost, but sometimes makes it tricky to use it quickly.
