Have been using this composter for several weeks now and there has been zero smell or issue with insects. It's very spacious too, it will take me the rest of the summer to fill it probably. It was somewhat challenging to put together, but once we figured out the center piece it went ok. Instruction/information guide was very helpful.

Rate 1 for assembly…. Bad instructions, I received wrong hardware, could not get center piece to ever fit or stay in place and screw holes didnt match up at all to anything that would properly attach for this part. So, I’m thinking I might have gotten some pieces and parts that were intended for a different model. I read another review that also mentioned that they discarded the middle divider piece because it would never assemble correctly. The middle divider also made it hard to get the other pieces aligned. I ended up disassembling all (I had put together all but 2 panels), took out the center piece, and was able to get the rest together with way better results. The video online at the manufacturers website was useful but still not great. It is easier to put together with two people but one person can do it, especially with shorter fingernails and small hands. For the panels, you have to make sure the edges of each panel are slid under what I will call plastic fins (see photo). You then have to overlap the base of the prior panel and the next panel, aligning the holes. The assembly takes longer than ten minutes, with one person. I’ve assembled probably 50 items this year so far and generally don’t have problems but this was a royal time waster and frustrating assembly experience. Better instructions, better videos and two people would make it easy to assemble, as long as all the correct parts are received. Now that it’s finally built, I’m happy with it. It’s not a dual chamber composter now became de I thought of k put the center, but that’s no big deal. I’m just glad to recycle stuff into soil rather than sending it to the landfill. I have hardly an trash going to the curb when I have a composter. My prior composter was Canadian, well made, ez to assemble, and lasted for more than 10 years until I moved and left it, but I could not find that composter anymore. I would buy the Canadian one next time instead of this brand because of the assembly problems
