Portemanteaux mural Promontory

I like the look, design and utility of this but I didn't realize there'd be work to do when I opened the box. The iron piping is coated with thin layer of oil to prevent rusting. You need to remove the oil (not difficult but it's a step and it takes time and space), then apply a urethane coating to create a rust-proof barrier. My husband didn't realize this and "installed" a few bars, got black iron scuff marks on our newly painted walls! The manufacturer should just include this step. I'd have gladly paid extra. The enclosd instructions say this is optional but how could that be (unless you way black oil streaks on your clothing)?!!

Love the industrial look of these closet racks. Very durable and easily add shelves to them.

This clothing rack was exactly what we needed and what we were looking for for our hall coat closet. That being said, not sure I would use it in a "regular" closet. The pipes are coated in this oil to keep them from rusting and even after wiping it off it still left an awful, dirty mess. I would be so nervous to get that on my clothes if I put this in a regular closet and not a coat closet. It also didn't come with screws for assembly which was rather surprising. Like I said, it worked for us for this specific purpose but still a few things to be mindful of.

This looks great! Perfect measurements and we ended up getting another one and it looks like a stores closet!

I should have read that you have to wash the pipes and then spray coat seal them. Also no screws or wall fasteners are included. The rack itself is awesome and I am loving the finished product. Just didn't realize what I signed up for! lol 5 STAR quality
