We bought this base to install in our bathroom. It came with a repair to the tiling flange so it was a return that they fixed and sold new again. The repair was o the flange but the tile would cover it up so I accepted it. It was installed per the enclosed instructions with the bed of mortar under it and all was good. That is until the first time I used it. The bottom of the shower came loose from the mortar and now when you walk on it the shower pan flexes under your feet and makes a clicking noise. The problem as I see it is that the pan is only about 1/4' thick and smooth on the underside with no ribs to reinforce the pan. Something they knew how to do in the 1970's. I bought the made in the USA base to keep Americans working but with this low quality product I give up. Buy the made in China base. This is what happens when bean counters make engineering decisions.

This base being our second delivered because the first was in terrible condition we were happy that it had minimal imperfections that would not be visible once the tile was installed. Customer service for replacing the first was exceptionally good.
