Editing my review after having the handles for a while. It turns out the handle is just glued to the turning mechanism. Once the handle breaks off, you can't turn the handle from the other side either, so you could get trapped in a room (which we narrowly avoided). We're now replacing all of these handles with Weiser ones, which are much higher quality.
