The Allen screws used to attach the handles have previously been screwed in so far they were buried into the mounting post. They were screwed in so far the handles could be removed. I can fix the mounting posts to make it work, I think. But I’m not going to waste my time returning the faucet because I’ll probably just be sent another faucet with the same problem. It is my guess this faucet is probably part of a lot of faucets that failed some quality control check somewhere along the line, resulting in it being unloaded on Wayfair rather than in a store.
