This is not wood. It is plastic and is not 18.5 in deep. That size includes the hinge area. It does not reach the end of the toilet bowl.

I ordered three of these based on the description. It is solid PLASTIC construction, not solid wood as stated. It appears to be well made and the plastic is heavy, plus the overall design is good, however, it is not enamel covered wood, which is what I wanted. I recommend this only if you want plastic.
