I took a chance on the "open box" item for the savings. As far as I can tell, the quality is as good as new. The mantle has two predrilled holes in the top of the mantle rather than on the bottom as the instructions indicate. Very easy installation; I was able to do it myself without difficulty.

A wonderful find, beautiful mantle for much lower price than at local merchants. Came very well packaged, no defects or damage upon inspection. I love it! The wood color is perfect and true to the picture
