I painted mine white and built a pedestal for it and bought a sheet of brick background for it. The picture shows it with candles inside but Ive since replaced the candles with an electric log heater so it actually looks like a real working fireplace.

This was so much nicer than I expected. With all the pieces in good shape and the correct amount of hardware. The directions were clear and my daughter assembled it but it did take some time. I am so pleased with it!
