frame is produced from quality material (cedar frame is 1.5 inch stock), though the cedar box that houses the slots is much thinner and needs to be handled with care. the screen isnt robust though is likely adequate with careful install (very thin). the product isnt finished however, several areas were quite rough and needed significant sanding. i would purchase again, but it should be advertised more accurately.

Bought this as a replacement for a rotted out pine gable vent. Pros: * Generally good workmanship. Not as good as the standard of 50 years ago, but far better than you generally get nowadays. * Metal screening, not nylon mesh that is so commonly the case. * Product dimensions were accurate. * Rot resistant cedar, not pine. Con - even though I ordered the smooth finish the surface was essentially rough sawn and the router moulding work had heavy tearout from using either dull bits or feeding the stock against the grain (or both?). (Subtract one star) With heavy sanding this became a good installation and I reordered. But I shouldn't have had to sand a "smooth" sawn order.
