I wish I could post this for all of the stair brackets because it does apply to all of them. We purchased 32 of the Telma. We read both previous reviews and new there was a remark on the 'warping'. When you receive these, they will look exactly as they are described. They are a shaped foam with white primer on the decorated side. It is a benefit the manufacturer primes these because they are intricate and tedious to paint. You can see that just from the picture. Because they are foam and a mold is used, each one will be slightly different (not enough to tell once installed). Some a bit thicker in size, etc but we expected this. As for the warping, it is true, but they are flexible. Due to the 'lack of flatness' we spent two days and several trips to the store to find a glue that would be tacky enough to hold them flat and in place. In our experience DO NOT USE GLUE TO APPLY THESE. I ended up sanding off the glue experiments and that is not pleasant. We used three 1 1/2" finish screws, each one placed in the corners of the triangle. The screws pulled them right into shape. Since ours was butting up against black. I painted the brackets with high gloss white before we screwed them into place. We counter-sunk a bit and then used caulking to cover the screw heads. You will need to caulk under the intricate detail but professionals know this, I'm mainly writing this for the DYI's like us. We took old dusty stained wood stairs, painted the newels and top risers glossy black, painted the kick boards and side boards with brackets glossy white and the staircase is gorgeous. We couldn't be more pleased. I hope this helps save time. I wish I could give this a 5, product is as described. Being light weight helps tremendously. For folks that have never installed, this could be a pain, but it doesn't have to be.
