Chills well! I'm using it to cool about 700sq ft and we are COMFORTABLE! I keep my indoor temp 76-78F in the summer usually but my old unit was dying out, so I replaced it with this one. It's a very hot climate here, and this unit is having NO trouble maintaining 76F in here while it's been 94-97F. It's maintaining 74 in the 270 sq ft around it easily. If my space wasn't segmented by a doorway, I believe it would maintain about 74F in this amount of space (again, about 700sq ft).. just for knowledge to anyone considering buying this unit. It's easy to install, very easy. Just be warned that if you have a window sill on the window you'll be installing it in, you'll need to get foam weather strip (wide/thick) to put beneath the window insert and thinner foam (the type with adhesive) to put on top of the install (between window insert and window). Even if you have no window sill, I still recommend the thinner weatherstrip (type with adhesive) on top of the window insert to seal out drafts. ONE COMPLAINT: There is not a strong enough connection between the duct tip and the insert. You WILL need to find a way to reinforce it or it WILL disconnect after you install and try to even just slightly move the unit. I suggest just gluing it with your choice of adhesive after plugging the duct tip into the window insert. IT HAS LATCHES BUT THEY ARE INSUFFICIENT. Overall great unit with a lot of features!
