He answered every one of my questions and assured me the product was ideal for DIY installations like ours. After ordering samples we chose the Vanilla Bean color. He specified the exact amount of product needed and described how to cut the special tabs on the shorter pieces. He also explained how to stagger the edge pieces for a more professional look.
Our shipment arrived in perfect condition, well-packaged to prevent damage. After practicing a few cuts with various saws on the sample product, I decided to use my Japanese pull saw for all installation cuts. Its thin blade and fine teeth cut straight and true, leaving no unsightly rough edges. I used my Dremel to rout out the end pieces to fit perfectly around our mantel. The project took about 8 hours to complete and was fun to do. What a dramatic improvement GenStone made to our living room!
