This project has been very tedious and frustrating. So many cuts had to be done which has pushed our project into week five! The column caps don’t really go with our overall look but we are doing our best to make it work even though they are oversized.

We bought an order of Genstone panels and pieces to accent our Alaska cabin. We just put the panels on the bar inside, and it made all the difference

The panels and corners are very easy to cut and finish. Installation is a piece of cake. To hide the screws on the front panels is very easy to do it. You don't have to be a pro on construction. Price is very affordable compare to real stones. I'm already planning some other projects with Genstone.

After practicing a few cuts with various saws on the sample product, I decided to use my Japanese pull saw for all installation cuts. Its thin blade and fine teeth cut straight and true, leaving no unsightly rough edges. I used my Dremel to rout out the end pieces to fit perfectly around our mantel. The project took about 8 hours to complete and was fun to do. What a dramatic improvement GenStone made to our living room!

We stuccoed our home a year ago and had some pop-outs added so we could add some stone. It took us a year to finally decide what product to use.
