I've had these knobs and locksets installed for a couple of years now so I can provide a better assessment of how they wear. I bought the lifetime brass finish to accompany my Georgian-style doors, and they provided the perfect flourish. They are heavy and substantial feeling in the hand, which is exactly what I was looking for virtually. I have them on all of my external doors and they provide exactly the right level of elegance without being fussy. They are virtually maintenance-free, but I do occasionally buff with a chamois to keep them looking their best. The only reason that I took off one star is because all of the handles that are used frequently have noticeable wear on them. In other words, the finish is wearing away. This is not a deal breaker for me because it matches the general style of our home - nice, but absolutely lived in. That said, I would have wished for the finish to stay intact for more than a year or two.
They are quite beautiful, and I would definitely buy them all over again!
