Back plate is metal but the knobs are plastic

All these different names like Grohe and Hansgrohe and Grohtherm is so confusing, Father ans son one outs a better inner material the othe is better than outer, I gave up going for Moen .

Looks great. Solid quality. Works great, the thermostatic control is a must. Was able to install myself after watching the Grohe install video.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] OK HERE IS THE TRICKY ONE --SO THIS VALVE IS IN SO MANY PARTS I DONT KNOW HOW A PLUMBER WILL NOT LOOSE ANYTHING --I WAS VERY CAREFUL NOT TO--IT TOOK MY GUY SEVERAL TIMES AND SEVERAL HOURS TO INSTALL THIS VALVE --ITS ALOT --NOW ONCE YOU GET PAST THE PART OF CUTTING THE EXCESS OFF THAT YOU DONT NEED (WHICH I THINK IS GENIUS) AND THE SETTING THE VALVE IS TRICKY AS WELL --BUT IT IS WORKING AND I THINK IT WILL BE GOOD --IM HOPING I WILL LOVE IT AND SELL A TON BECAUSE I KNOW GROHE IS A GREAT FAUCET --JUST NOT FUN TO INSTALL
