I did SO much research before buying this ladder. I moved into a home with 10' ceilings and I needed a ladder that would give me enough reach to change a lightbulb, but be lightweight enough that I could easily move it from room to room, and have it be compact enough to slide into a closet out of sight. First, this ladder was pretty filthy. I didn't notice it until I realized I was leaving black handprints around my house after handling it. I ended up wiping the whole thing down with household cleaner - not a huge deal, but it was like it had this black tarry stuff that just got everywhere. Feels like they should have ensured it was clean before shipping it. Then, what I thought were 2 support side bars were in fact flimsy wires that didn't even pull taught with use. Looking back at the listing, I can now see the wires were in fact visible and likely never intended to offer stability, but it still made me uneasy that this ladder didn't have appropriate support. The platform sort of clicks into the back, which holds the ladder upright but more than once, it didn't click into place and I didn't realize I was climbing it without that security. I felt pretty comfortable on the first 4 steps, but every time I tried the 5th step I felt too insecure to use this ladder. For the cost, I decided this just won't work for me. Wayfair was great with the return but be warned the return shipping on this was PRICEY. They charged me $58 to return it. Ouch.
