This barn door kit is awesome!! I spent hours looking online and kept coming back to these doors. Finally, I decided the extra work would be worth it and ordered them.
My husband and I installed these with minimal effort (the only hard part was finding studs for the header board). We followed the directions exactly and watched the suggested videos and the end result is far better than we imagined.
I used one coat of Minwax Jacobean stain and rubbed it on with a stain sponge. Not all the cracks and crevices took the stain well, but because the stain is so dark I used a black Sharpie and colored the spots in and then hand rubbed them. The end result was basically that of a really dark knot.
Overall, for the price, these doors are well worth every penny and then some. As you can see in the pictures, the handles I used were not what came with the doors. What's pictured are 12" long and also have the finger pull for the back side. I wanted something more substantial.
These doors arrived extremely quickly and were VERY well packed. If you want barn doors and don't mind a little extra work, then these are the doors for you. Both my husband and I love everything about them. Absolutely gorgeous!!!!!
