All my bathroom walls are tiled from floor to ceiling, with no existing toilet paper roll holder. The tiles are from Italy and there were no spares, therefore I wanted a solution that didn't pierce the tiles. After comparing a number of similar products, I chose this one.
Bottom line is it meets my needs. Functional things I wish I could improve are: application guidance for the adhesive wall mount; smoother operation of the drawer; more effective paper roll stop to keep the roll from slipping off the horizontal dowel.
When I was installing the adhesive backed wall mount, air got trapped behind the two protruding brackets that the unit slots into and down to mount and lock the unit in place. With the trapped air, the protruding brackets do not sit as close to the wall as they should. This causes the unit to stick out slightly further than designed. Once the adhesive mount was stuck to the wall, I was hesitant to remove and try and to reattach it. To prevent the outer edge of the unit from tilting downward, I installed thin cork spacers to the bottom back edge between the unit and wall to level it. This worked well and the unit sits level and fairly snug to the wall.
I store wet wipes, Poo-Pourri, and a matches inside the drawer. The drawer slides out just fine. When the drawer is pulled out fully, the two bolts keep the drawer from falling out, but the drawer front edge drops down. This too is ok, but when pushing the drawer back in the bolts catch and I have to lift the front of the drawer to allow the drawer to be fully pushed in. I am concerned over time this will lead to some unintended wear to the drawer.
The 'L' shaped, horizontal roll holder dowel looks simple and clean, but the roll stop is NOT large enough to effectively keep the roll on during use. After considering many options to improve roll retention during use, I chose to purchase a large, clear, silicone ring. The silicone ring stretches easily to change paper rolls, and fits tightly enough to retain the roll during use.
Again, this product meets my needs, and minor manufacturing changes could improve installation and functionality.
