Designer Review: Stunning Cross-Handle Faucets (With an Important Note on Finish)
I have been purchasing Kingston Brass faucets for many years and have always been incredibly pleased with their quality. When I saw the Concord Wall-Mounted Bathroom Faucet featuring the cross-handle pattern, I knew I had to have it. Other than a slight unexpected detail with the finish, these faucets are absolutely perfect.
The Finish Nuance:
This is the first time I have selected Kingston Brass's brushed brass finish. While I love the color itself, I feel like this particular execution leans much closer to an unlacquered brass finish. As a professional designer, I absolutely love unlacquered brass—but generally only when I know that is what I ordered, rather than when I am anticipating a standard brushed brass. I have uploaded clear photos so you can see exactly how the finish reads in person.
Applications & Styling:
I purchased three of these faucets to use in two completely different spaces:
The Pool Bathroom: I installed one in our downstairs bathroom, which opens to the swimming pool area and gets a high volume of traffic. I paired it with the Gray Concrete Rectangular Vessel Bathroom Sink by VIGO and the Render 36" Wall-Mounted Single Bathroom Vanity Base by Modway (both also purchased from Wayfair).
The Master Suite: I installed the remaining pair in our upstairs master suite double vanity. For this setup, I paired them with regular drop-in sinks and the gorgeously tall Margulies Metal Arch Wall Mirrors by Mercer41 from Wayfair.
Functionality & Specs:
The center of the spout reach is exactly 8”, which offers great clearance. I was initially worried about turning on a cross-handle pattern with dirty hands while washing my face or applying makeup. However, you can easily use your elbow with very little force to turn the water on and off without dirtying the handles. They have excellent water flow and function beautifully.
