I love the K-5871-5UA3-0 Riverby (undermount) sink; BUT the accessory caddy is very poorly & cheaply designed. The little white cutting board is impractical because as soon as you use it, it develops dark discolored lines all over it from the knife marks. Very cheaply made. But what is really the worst is the steel rack is designed so poorly that it actually scratches the porcelain surface of your beautiful new sink!! Nobody who spends this kind of money on a beautiful new sink wants to see scratches caused by the very accessories that were sold with and came with the sink! When I called Kohler about it, they made no apologies and told me I could buy some paint to fix my sink that got scratched from the accessory. They sold me with it. They also said I could try a certain kind of cleaner that Kohler sells, so I will try that. But clearly, Kohler needs to rethink the accessory line that comes with this sink and engineer something much more deserving of the Kohler name & price tag. Because details do matter, and I expect more out of Kohler.

I bought this product and have had it in use for about 18 months: I would say it sees medium use and we even use a silicon protector to stop scratches but this sink stains and looks terrible. I wouldn’t suggest purchasing it as you will end up stuck with a stained sink and depending on how it’s installed be very hard to fix.

I bought this sink in March 2024, and had it installed about a month later. We did a whole house renovation and I was looking forward to having matching Kohler sinks throughout. However, after this first Riverby sink was installed, I cannot recommend this brand. The bottom of this sink has discolored and stained after less than 7 months of use. I purchased the bottom grates and used those too. Stay away from the white cast iron. I will now need to replace this thousand dollar, 7-month old sink.

This is a great sink if installed correctly. However my interior designer, her general contractor and countertop fabricator failed to look at the details. Initially, They said that there was no template for the sink. I find it hard to believe that a multi billion dollar company like kohler would not provide a template for installation. Then they said there were four options on a template for the sink. Upon further review, We are unable to modify the countertop and I am not able to use the accessories. I am disappointed because I was Looking forward to using this sink exactly as it was intended for, as a workstation sink. I paid an upcharge for nothing. The sink is well made and gorgeous just make sure you micromanage the install no matter how many “professionals” you have hired to do the job for you.

This is a lovely big sink. However, the accessories that come with it are too small, so I am befuddled as to how to dry things without them getting wet right away. I reverted to using an over the counter silicon dryer but it doesn't quite fit with the soap dispenser and it slips as well. If I could figure out a good way to manage my washed dishes, I'd raise the star level to 4. Also, I drilled holes in the 'washing cup' because it was constantly a pool of yucky water, makes more sense to have that as a drying cup for utensils, but with water gathering at the bottom, it turned gross.
