This is, as far as I can tell, one of the only built-in systems with hot, cold, ambient, and sparkling functions in the US - it was certainly the only one I could find. It would seem that is why it commands such a hefty price, and if it operated perfectly, it'd be well worth it. However, the sparkling water function falls short and that is the only thing differentiating it from less costly options that cover hot/cold/ambient filtered water dispensing. The sparkling water doesn't get as fizzy or hold the sparkle as well as countertop options available in the US and Europe.

We recently installed the Aquifer. The water is very hot, which is great. However, the water is not cold, and the sparkling water has minimal fizz (multiple Co2 cannisters tried). This is a beautiful waste of thousands of dollars.

We use this with our under-counter beverage system, and as a family of five, we run a lot of water through it. I purchased this filter as a backup replacement, but I have to say, we've been using the original filter that came with the system since February and it has far exceeded my expectations. We also use the beverage system to fill the reservoir on our nugget ice maker, and since switching from tap water, there has been absolutely no scale buildup. That's been a huge bonus and has helped keep maintenance to a minimum. The filter life, water quality, and overall performance have been outstanding. Based on our experience, this has been a fantastic value. 10 out of 10 stars for this filter! Highly recommended.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is VERY HEAVY. It does work well. It gives you hot water very fast as well. It's a little work to install. But my husband is a plumber so it was ok but if you don't understand plumbing you might struggle.

I had high expectations for this unit. While the unit works overall, it leaves a lot to be desired. My main issues... 1) water flow for regular tap is very, very slow. We have another filtered water tap on another sink and the flow is much better. 2) The carbonated water comes out with so much force that is splatters everywhere. Good luck containing it. 3) Cold water is never cold. I have it set for 43 degrees F, and it has not yet achieved that temp. Usually it just sits around 50 degrees F.
