This reverse a pet door was installed about 7 weeks ago. I was very happy to find such a door online where I could choose where the screen would be and our dogs could go in and out. Unfortunately, the flap for the dogs or other animals is not clear. Animals cannot see through it and if they need to know what they're going into, they can't see it and won't go through flap. Why is this flap made in gray instead of a clear material?! Secondly, the screws that were holding door hinges in place broke within 3-4 wks of low use. The head of the screw broke off, leaving the screw part in the wood, and given that the door was installed to fit into a specific space, I am really out of luck on the weakness of the included screws! This is a door on a home, not a business so the use is not at a high level. When my installer called Larson, Larson implied that the door closer, which is a top of the door model, wasn't made for being set to an open position and that we had to hold it very steady so the door didn't bounce at all when we set it. Seriously? What family has expected to have to carefully hold the door as it moves the 1 inch into a still position before letting go?! 3-4 wks was all the screw lasted before they broke. I am really disappointed and can't carve out another door frame so this Larson door can be placed differently. What to do?
