This is such a poorly designed piece. The deadbolt latch component was designed for a traditional deadbolt two-sided where you drill a large hole in the center and run the plate fore and aft of the door. Being one-sided you can't do that. The bore hole is standard 1 inch but the latch the deadbolt latch itself needs an additional 3/8 of an inch in order to function to go from locked to unlocked and back. There's nothing in the directions about how to accomplish this because there are absolutely no directions.. Also, the screws that came with it to mount the backing plate to the door need to be recessed. They sent screws with heads too large to be recessed. Thus the trim plate would not fit flush against the door because it was stuck on top of the screw heads. The pieces themselves were well-made the engineering behind them absolutely terrible. Also zero instructions there's a picture that's it. That's all you get. I did install it. I'm a pretty skilled woodworker and I had the tools to do a work around, but this is not for the traditional DIY guy or gal.
