[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product free in exchange for an unbiased review. I review lots of products so honesty is key for me. I received this unit mid to end of April 2024, right before it got hot. As an initial trial, we put it in my daughter's bedroom with is about a12x14 room. She reported that it kept her room cool, but was a little loud even on sleep mode. She said it seemed louder on sleep mode. In May when it warmed up routinely, we moved the unit downstairs in into our 2-story great room, so larger than the 450 sqft it is designed to cool. Keep in mind this unit is NOT made to cool a room this large. We need to replace our whole house A/C but are trying to put it off due to other household projects. This unit has been a life saver. With the aid of our ceiling fans, this unit has kept the first floor of our house cool and helped us limit the use of our home A/C unit. It might just get us through the summer! The one caution I give is this unit will pull moisture from the air! There is a dehumidifier mode, but even without that on, it still pulls some moisture. There is a tube to attach to drain the unit. However, make sure you have something large enough to hold the water! We did not initially and ended up with a huge puddle on our hardwood floor. Thankfully with dehumidifier mode we were able to dry out the air and floor and it did not buckle. After that, we use a detergent bottle inside a bucket. We check the bottle often and empty it and if we're gone for an extended time, any overflow goes into the bucket. We would recommend getting a longer house and running it outside via the window or into a drain. Instructions tell you to drain into basement drain but really, If you're cooling a room, it's probably not in the basement! Maybe dehumidify in the basement, but not cool. I docked 1 star since we could not get it to connect to the Hubspace app to control remotely. Midea should contract with another provider. Hubspace is notorious for connectivity issues.
