Mounting bracket is not very secure so am worried about long term. Will have to add braces underneath as a precaution - kind of ruins the floating look

I like the fact that it was unfinished so I can stain it to match my floors. Fits well with my linear electric fireplace.

We’ve had this mantle hanging for just over a month and the entire front lip split all the way down from its own weight. Possibly was defective at delivery and we just didn’t notice. But the split is noticeable now. It was properly installed and the hanger board is sturdily attached to studs. No way to resolve the issue through Wayfair as it’s just past 30 days since delivery. Unfortunate for an expensive piece.
