We installed three of these keyless doorknobs in our home, where we do respite care for foster children. They actually have a battery-operated keypad and a key-operated lock as a backup. We have had them for just over a year and, while two of them still work adequately, the one in heaviest use has become a real problem. It is on our primary bedroom door. First, they keypad stopped working even when the correct code was entered. Replacing the batteries did not change this. Then the lock began to engage on its own, with normal use of the doorknob. This means my husband and I can become locked in our own bedroom, and someone with the key must come to unlock it for us from the outside. Cannot recommend. These are a safety hazard.

Super easy installation and easy to follow programming instructions. I ended up purchasing this door knob because the original one that I ordered arrived defective and I didn’t figure that out until I had already installed the whole thing and typed in the code and it would not trigger the locking mechanism. I’m so glad I went with this purchase because not only was the installation easier, but it was half the price! of the original one I had purchased.
