Haven’t used the grate yet, but when I unpackaged it, it wasn’t as heavy and strong as I thought a cast iron grate was going to be. A little on the thin side for the bottom of the grate and there are no center feet or brace, which makes me believe it will buckle under the extreme heat in the fireplace. The feet appear strong and thick, but the grate itself is not and I’m skeptical about how long this will last. For the price, I would have hoped it would have been thick and steady I guess only time will tell if it holds up to the extreme heat, but by then it will be too late to return!
