The "peened", or textured, grab bars add a bit of extra non-slip safety. However I thought I was ordering these in white and the came in the standard silver. I'm not sure if I clicked color and number too quickly, or if the Wayfair site goofed. In the end I returned these (no hassle) and installed white bars without the "peening."

This is a good product at a terrific price. It was exactly what was needed for a bathroom renovation project.
