This towel ring is made of lightweight metal, which is to be expected at this price point. The chrome plating looks good and the unit will look fine once installed. The ball shaped part the ring goes through has a slight smooth pointed out profile and is not ball shaped as I expected. That is, unless the ball is a football. The ring itself is pretty slim in keeping with the cost saving construction of the piece.
