I needed this to replace an identical expansion tank on my water heater that sprung a leak during our stay at home order. Ecomfort was great in shipping this overnight without extra charge. Installation is simple. Some teflon tape and screw it on. My old tank failed almost five years to the date after it was installed. That seemed a short life to me. The old tank was installed by a plumber installing a new water heater at the time. I discovered when I went to install this tank that it needed to be pressurized to a pressure equal to the water pressure in the house. The tanks come pre-pressurized to 40 psi. My water pressure turned out to be about 100 psi. The tanks have a standard schrader valve (standard car or bicycle tire valve). The instructions say to pump it up with a bicycle tire pump. I discovered however, that the valve is too short for the pump's pin to depress the center of the valve. I tried two different pumps without success. I finally tried putting a valve extender I happened to have (available at auto parts) on the valve and then was able to use the pump. Why they made the valve on the tank so short, I cannot understand. Both the pumps I tried work fine on my cars and bicycles. I also realized that the plumber who installed the first tank never checked the pressure, which may be why the pump failed prematurely.
