I considered buying a cheaper ($30) set, but reviews of those sets, said I'd be disappointed in their quality. If you're looking for a heavy duty , rustic fireplace set, this is the one to get. As someone who makes things for a living {machinist-40 yrs.} I can personally attest to the quality, of this cast-iron set. The fit and finish are exceptional. The actual dimensions are 7 1/2" diameter base and overall height of 24 1/2" with a SATIN black finish. This set weighs about 16 lbs , with a heavy base, which helps prevent it from tipping over. Easily...a top pick, at a fair price !
