only complaint is the loss of cold water at the kitchen due tothe constant warm water

This is our 2nd Rinnai tankless water heater. We used the first one for 13 years. Other than annual maintenance, we never an any problems with it. It was still going strong when I replaced it with the current unit. (I gave it to a friend.) The only reasons I replaced it was to take advantage on the federal tax credit and the new technology that gives hot water in seconds! Our natural gas bill did go up slightly due to the water circulation. However, our water bill dropped substantially because now we don't have to wait for the hot water. We've had the new unit installed for 6 months and love it! It makes SLIGHTLY more noise than the old unit due to the internal pump, but is still VERY quiet. Unless you're really concentrating on it, you don't notice it at all. Even then, you have to be close to the unit. The previous unit easily paid for itself. I expect this one to do the same. Would never go back to a tank style water heater. Definitely, a great purchase!

I like the system, but I feel I was overcharged for the system.

I watched quite a few "you tube" videos of the Tankless guy. I did not like the cost of installed product from local plumbers. Total time was 22.5 hours not counting you tube instructions. I installed a new electrical outlet including running 35 feet of wire, installed 40 feet of recirculation line, moved some gas line, and installed unit. I could work around my old tank and install new tankless before disconnecting old tank and gas. I'm retired from construction and would consider myself in the top 20% of DIYers. I always read instructions 2-3 times even before starting a project. Product worked first time I turned it on. The remote recircultion button is trick. Cut our gas bill right away.

Recirculation mode seems to run more often than required. It keeps on running way past showering time, its a waste of energy trying to recirculate hot water thru the pipes.
