The tiles appear as photographed. I purchased to install over industrial low pile carpet and they worked perfectly. The backing is very sticky and didn’t require underlayment for my office flooring. The pattern does not connect between tiles so it looks busy. The paper backing extends beyond the tile which makes it difficult to do a layout before starting.
