Few notes about this product... (I bought 2 for a TV room I'm working on, with intention to buy 2 more if they were decent. I'm on the fence. And anyway, Wayfair ran out of stock)... 1. Documentation is limited on it... it's just some diagrams on the box. And even the diagram doesn't seem to be accurate to the product. 2. It will not fit anything less than an 8" tablet. Too big for your 7 incher. Even my 8 inch tablet only fit in a specific way. 3. One of the boxes was missing the screws for mounting, so it was probably a return. I just found some replacements in the garage. 4. The hinges when tightened as much as a hand can tighten, still are easily moved... which means, with little pressure, the tablet will drop. 5. Really mostly designed for 10+ inch tablets. Pros: Looks pretty slick, nice concept/design. Cons: Listed in review...

Just mounted and it looks good. Will put iPad on it and add to review on how well it holds up.

My boyfriend loved this! He attached it to his work bench and now can easily watch the tutorials and work on projects. Instead of balancing work pieces and Ipad. Easy install, easy use, durable :D

I bought this to hold an old Dell Duo (netbook/tablet hybrid before tablets were big). I thought it would work since the brackets looked pretty thick, and the weight capacity stated 10lbs. Based on other reviews the arms get loose over time, so if you mount a normal-sized tablet and don't move it around a lot, it should be okay.
