Our stairs are beautiful hardwood, but slippery and unsafe I felt (we also have dogs)...so decided to go with the carpet treads. For now....it fits into our budget. I secured them with Borica Double Sided Tape through Wayfair as well and it works beautifully. I didn't want to tack or nail down the treads, so the carpet tape was my choice. The treads themselves are exactly what I expected....and perfect! My only gripe was they arrived folded over and had a hump in each one, but luckily when secured down w/ the tape it was not a problem and disappeared completely. I did put the carpet tape along the entire perimeter of each tread. I also recommend washing/cleaning each stair before securing for best adhesion. It's been a few weeks now, and they are just perfect! No slipping, moving, curling of any kind. As for plush'ness' of the treads...they are just fine for my needs. Not overly plush, but still feel good on bare feet. They are also supposed to be easy to clean and stain resistant. WE shall see! Anyway....I do love them, and am happy I purchased!
