Microlite brings a warm, settled calm to a room. Microlite is a traditional design drawn in an oriental style. Soft beige and grey carry the ground, while blush and cream lift the medallion at the center. The traditional oriental style pattern spreads fine vines, petals and small scrolls out to every corner. Up close you see delicate detail. From across the room it reads as one soft, glowing shape on the floor. The soft, washed tones suit white walls, wood floors, dark leather and pale linen just as well. Microlite warms a plain room and calms a busy one. In the living room, Microlite sits under a coffee table and pulls the sofa and chairs into one group. In the bedroom, lay it at the foot of the bed so your feet land on something soft each morning. In the dining room, it sits under the whole table and holds the chairs even when they are pulled out. By the front door, it catches the first steps into the house. Down a long hallway, the repeating pattern draws the eye forward. In a home office, it softens the hard sound of a desk chair. In a kids' room, it gives a comfortable floor for building, reading and playing. In an open plan space, it marks where the living area ends and the dining area starts. On a covered porch or in a sunroom, it works just as well, because this rug is made for indoor and outdoor use. Choosing a size is simple. A long narrow runner suits a hallway, a galley kitchen, or the side of a bed where you step down each morning. It also works in an entry, where it marks a clear path from the door. A runner can also sit in front of a kitchen counter or along the end of a bed. A larger rectangle belongs in the main room. Set it so the front legs of the sofa and the armchairs rest on the rug, and the whole seating area feels joined. Under a dining set, pick a rectangle wide enough that the chairs stay on the rug when guests push back. A smaller rectangle is right by a door, beside a crib, or in front of a dresser. Measure your floor first, then choose from the sizes listed here. The design is printed with a high-quality digital print, so the colour stays rich and every line stays sharp. The thin scrolls, the small petals and the fine border hold their shape instead of blurring. Look closely and the border holds its thin outline all the way around. Beige melts into grey, and blush meets cream, with soft shading between them. The pile is a low 6mm, about a quarter of an inch. The surface stays flat, so the pattern reads clearly from one end of the room to the other. Underfoot it feels smooth and ultra soft, with no deep shag to flatten or track. Furniture sits level on it, and the rug stays neat in busy rooms. Cleaning is easy. The rug is machine washable, so when it needs a full refresh you can wash it and put it back down. Wash it, dry it and lay it back down where it belongs. For a fresh spill, wipe the mark or spot clean it right away with a cloth and a little water. Day to day, a vacuum or a shake outside keeps it fresh. The rug does not shed and does not fuzz, so you will not find loose fibres along the baseboards or a film of dust on the floor around it. That matters under a dining table, in an entry and anywhere crumbs and mud come in. You spend less time on the floor and more time in the room. Living with Microlite is simple. The non-slip backing keeps it in place, so it does not slide when you walk across it or creep away from the sofa. The low 6mm pile clears most doors, so you can use it inside an entry or a bathroom doorway. The surface is ultra soft, so bare feet, crawling babies and sleeping pets are all happy on it. A durable overlocked edge binds the sides, so the rug keeps its clean shape in a busy home. Shoes, paws and chair legs all pass over it without trouble. Microlite is pet and kid friendly, and it is easy to live with every day.
