Hoped it would be a little darker gray. It is more of a silvery light gray. It is fairly thin and definitely requires a pad. Even though I temporarily used heavy books and furniture to attempt to make the ends not roll up ...they rolled again once the objects were removed. Not very happy with it, but do not want to go through the hassle of returning it.
