This runner makes a statement in our entry hall that leads to a sitting room centered around a venerable old wool area carpet that can't be duplicated. The abstract pattern in cream/ochre/light and dark olive repeats all but one of the colors(burgundy border) in the more traditional carpet and is as appropriate as could be achieved without a jarring contrast, as it strikes a more modern note that nevertheless carries out the theme. I am satisfied with the quality of the runner, which is relatively thin, but will withstand the minimal foot traffic that occurs in this quiet apartment.
