Just as described. It lies completely flat and is very attractive rug.

A couple things here... I shopped hard all over this site for the right rug for new living room... Two weeks in, and there are still "lumps," pockets of air, un-smoothed creases. I've been placing moving boxes and upside down coffee table on them, a couple areas at a time, with some progress. The other thing I'd note is that there's a lot more TEXTURE to this rug than photos suggest. The white lines are tufted and quite raised, compared to the flatter, woven gray base. I don't MIND that, but don't expect the surface to be smooth. A decent value so far, a great one if the lumps settle over time.
