It is a beautiful rug and I do really like it. However - it was impossible to find out prior to ordering how the carpet was made. I tried - I contacted Wayfair customer service to see if they could tell me if it was woven and what it was made from. They did not have that information. I tried to find a contact for the producer, but was unsuccessful. I ordered it anyway, because I truly love the pattern. When it arrived, I realized that it is a soft, short napped, printed rug (to look like a weave) on a woven fibre back. There is nothing wrong with this, and I like the feel, as well as the look. That being said, this is VERY expensive for a non-woven rug. Much more than I would have considered paying. But, it is here and I like it, so I am keeping it. But, this is a price I would have expected to pay for a wool, cotton or at least poly woven rug.
