I’m very happy with the quality of the Four Hands Cortona Hand Knotted Oriental Area Rug in Olive, but the color and overall appearance are a bit different from the website photo. Online, the rug appears lighter and more distinctly olive, with a softer, more muted look. In person, mine reads noticeably darker and richer—more of a deep brown/olive—with stronger contrast in the cream detailing. That said, the deeper coloring works beautifully in my room and gives the rug a warm, substantial, old-world feel. The pattern is attractive and detailed, and the quality is very good. It also looks great against light stone floors and neutral walls. I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 mainly because the website photo doesn’t fully capture the actual color. Four Hands should really consider offering a swatch service for their rugs, because it’s extremely difficult to judge subtle colors like olive, brown, taupe, and cream accurately online. A small sample would make choosing with confidence much easier. Overall, it’s a beautiful, well-made rug with lots of character—just be prepared for the color to appear darker in person than it does online.
