It’s definitely not carpet. It is a thick foam material. Initially I was disappointed until I decided to put them on my stairs. They are so comfortable! They feel great underneath my feet and they look great. And unlike my other prior three sets of stair treads, these really do not need any sort of messy tape or backing to stay put. I live in an antique houses and I think that these have even made my stairs squeak less. Love them, highly recommend!

It’s not even a carpet. It’s a foam rubber pad with a screen printed top… How can they call it carpet?
