Beautiful rug for our dining room!

I took a chance on this rug because the close-up pictures showed exactly what I wanted but the description was way off, but it was on a hot sale and the price was too good to pass up. "Shag" is so far and away from how I would describe this rug. I would describe this mostly as a flat weave rug, with higher pile on the pattern and the edges. The pile height on the pattern is the same height as the edge. It is easy to vacuum; the vacuum doesn't get caught in the pattern. Unlike some indoor/outdoor rugs, it doesn't have the line of plastic-type sticks(?) running in one direction of the carpet. I bought this for my living room where my parrot cage is. He likes to throw food sometimes... and I chose this rug so that it would be a little harder for that dropped food to get scattered throughout the whole house. Verdict is still out on whether it works like that lol... It looks very nice in my living room and doesn't seem to darken the space. Only time will tell how well it wears. The ONE critique that I have is that the larger size (7'9" x 9'9") has FIFTEEN squiggles versus the smaller size (5" x 7") which has TEN squiggles... And the Wayfair photo shows the smaller size. So if you stare hard at the larger one you will realize that you can neve really "center" stuff on this rug. Fortunately my rug placement is in a way that you don't ever stare straight-on at the center of the rug.

We absolutely love this area rug. It is perfect for a dining room because of the indoor/outdoor material. Beautiful color and pattern. Flattened out quickly after we unpackaged it and rolled it out. Only slight complaint is I did find a run in the material where it is starting to fray but only in one spot that I have found.
